We’re looking for a skilled Videographer or Senior Videographer to help us bring our long-form content and podcasts to life. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in creating impactful, professional video content that resonates with runners worldwide.

Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Videographer or Senior Videographer with 3+ years of experience in a similar role. They will have a deep interest in the sport of running to join our creative team in London. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, loves storytelling, and wants to create compelling visual content that celebrates the sport of running. You’ll play a pivotal role in capturing the essence of running culture, from the adrenaline of races to personal journeys and information-based videos.

Key Responsibilities

Video Production

  • Plan, set up, and execute video shoots for long-form and short-form content, including studio-based and outdoor projects, alongside a team or solo. 
  • Use advanced equipment, including cameras, gimbals, drones, audio and lighting equipment to shoot footage that meets professional-grade standards.
  • Filming in all types of environments – we go where the runners are, whether that is up a mountain at night in the rain, on the roads of a major marathon, or in a professional studio.
  • Be able to operate solo – potentially handling camera, audio and lighting.
  • Collaborate with and lead freelance support on larger projects.

Post-Production 

  • Craft polished videos using industry-standard editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects), focusing on dynamic pacing and engagement.
  • Grade footage from multiple camera systems and video formats to ensure consistency across all video output. 
  • Add graphics, titles and effects as needed, maintaining consistency with The Running Channel’s brand guidelines.
  • Ensure final videos meet technical specifications and are optimised for the platform on which they will be shared.

Equipment Management

  • Maintain and organise filming equipment, ensuring everything is in good working order and ready for use.

Other 

  • Stay up to date with the latest trends, tools, and techniques in videography and editing to keep our content fresh and innovative.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior videographers and interns.
  • Partner with marketing, social media, and creative teams to ensure all content aligns with The Running Channel and its client’s vision and goals.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a videographer, with a portfolio showcasing video projects in the sports sector.
  • Proficiency in Adobe video editing software (knowledge of the Adobe suite is essential).
  • Expert camera operation, lighting, and audio recording skills both in the studio and out in the field (knowledge of Sony cameras is essential – The Running Channel currently shoots on FX30s).
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • A passion for storytelling and creating engaging content.
  • An understanding of the running community and enthusiasm for running.
  • Collaborative and proactive attitude with strong communication skills.
  • Full UK Driving license and the ability to confidently ride a bicycle.
