Celebrating Pride Month 2022

20 July 2022

Throughout June 2022 we looked to celebrate Pride Month in several different ways. Our content was made in collaboration with many amazing artists, directors and runners in the LGBTQ+ community and marks not only the month itself but also our long term commitment to highlight all parts of the amazing and diverse running community we are proud to be a part of.

We kicked off the month with a series of illustrations that we commissioned from the talented artist Sarah Haskins. Each illustration highlights a running icon in the LGBTQ+ community. We started with Helen Stephens who blazed a trail for women and for LGBTQ+ rights in the 1930s.

This was followed by Caster Semenya who fought for her right simply to be able compete at all, and subsequently by Colin Jackson who spent his life having to deny who he was for fear it would affect him on the track. We finished the illustration series with Nikki Hiltz who has shown that the future of LGBTQ+ athletes has never been brighter.

We also headed down to Brighton to film wth the Brighton and Hove FrontRunners, a mixed ability running club for LGBTQ+ people and their supporters to tell the story of two inspiring members; Kieran and Marc. To tell these important stories we shot with an all LGBTQ+ crew and we are very grateful for the opportunity to work with an amazing team to tell inspiring stories.

We will be back with the FrontRunners on August 5th when we join them for their first ever Rainbow Run 5km. We cannot wait to be a part of the atmosphere and if you would like to join us, you can enter here.
