USA’s Gabby Thomas Wins Women’s 200m Olympic Gold In Paris!
USA’s Gabby Thomas is the new women’s Olympic 200m champion after cruising to victory in Paris in 21.83, with Saint Lucia’s Julien Alfred adding silver following her 100m gold.
It was a photo finish between four women to determine third, with USA’s Brittany Brown winning bronze, just two-hundredths of a second ahead of GB’s Dina Asher-Smith. Her teammate Daryll Neita was one-hundredth of a second behind in an incredibly close finish.
Thomas was the favourite going into the race, having run the fastest time in the world this year, and she proved that she’s the best at the biggest race in the world.
ELSEWHERE TODAY…
Cole Hocker won a stunning gold in the men’s 1500m with GB’s Josh Kerr in second and USA’s Yared Nuguse in third. Norway’s Jakob Ingebrigtsen finished fourth.
