Rick’s Half Marathon Challenge

Rick has faced three knee surgeries, 18 months of no running, and a potential prognosis of never being able to run again. This all meant he had to confront the reality of what running means to him.
He came through those challenges and was able to build back to running, and he’s now grateful for every single run he can complete, and the way that those runs make him feel. He’s focused on being active with his two young children, taking on new physical challenges, and he uses running to clear his mind and help him focus before or after podcast recordings or radio show broadcasts.
Rick’s biggest post-surgery challenge came at the end of 2024 when he took on a half marathon – a distance he hadn’t been able to run in more than four years. With the support of ASICS as part of the Running Moves Your Mind Campaign, Rick is celebrating how running moves his mind and is tackling a distance which takes him way outside his comfort zone.
