11-Year-Old Completes 250th Parkrun!
Alfred, an 11-year-old from Norwich, has run his 250th Parkrun.
The Lord Mayor of Norwich, James Wright, who is also the run director for the Junior Parkrun at Eaton Park, presented Alfred with a certificate and wristband to commemorate his achievement.
Alfred has been taking part in Junior Parkrun, which is a 2km (1.25m) run, since he was 4-year-old.
“He is very pleased with himself – he has been working hard to get to this point,” said his mother Louise, who explained that Alfred hopes to run 400 Junior Parkruns before his 14th birthday, with the goal of completing the most Junior Parkruns.
“It is nice that he has got that drive to do something and stick to it,” said Louise. “He is quite competitive. Come rain or shine… he is always trying to get us out of the house.”
Over the weekend of 18-19 May, 28,000 juniors took part in the UK’s 446 Junior Parkruns.
Well done Alfred, this is a brilliant achievement. Keep up the great running!
