Marathon Pace Chart

Use this marathon pace chart to see what pace you need to average to reach your goal time, or use it to predict what time you might be able to run based on your training paces.

Paces are time per mile and per kilometre, so 9:06 per mile means nine minutes and six seconds for each mile. That’s an average for the whole race.

We’ve rounded down on the times (3:59 instead of 4:00) and on paces as this gives a more accurate target pace for you to aim for with an allowance for how you’ll typically run further than 26.2 miles during the race, and it adds a small buffer of a few seconds.

If you want to calculate your own time then this is a good pace calculator which could also help with understanding training paces.

Here’s everything you need to know about training for a marathon.

We also have a 10k pace chart and a half marathon pace chart.
